Help with Computer Testing and Packing at World Computer Exchange! They provide computers and support services to help connect more youth to the Internet in 61 developing countries. No technical skills are required. Transportation can be arranged to pick up volunteers at the Braintree Red Line T-Station or the commuter boat stop in Hingham. What they need:
  • Working color monitors that are less than 9 years old and have a  built in auto switch for the voltage these will say something like "Power: 110/220 volts" on the back of the monitor. All monitors built after 1995 have this except for one brand of NEC monitors. 
  • Working Hardware Parts and Accessories
  • Working Power Protection such as : Surge Protectors, Uninterruptible Power Supplies, Replacement UPS Batteries
  • Working Power Supplies
  • Working Networking Parts such as: Wireless cards, Routers, Wireless Accessories
  •  Software: Educational, non-violent, appropriate
