Highlighted Agency! Friday Night Supper Program (http://www.fridaynightsupper.org) provides a nutritious, home-cooked meals to the homeless and hungry people of Boston in a safe and dignified environment every Friday night from 5 to 7 p.m. They have served 13,000 meals a year to those in need every Friday night since 1984. This project is open to kids 13-17 with a parent/guardian or 18+ individually. Visit www.bostoncares.org to sign up.
Organize a Drive in your Town, your Church, your School or DayCare Center!
Earthworks (www.earthworksboston.org) has a wish list on file with Boston Cares. Have your kids help those in need! Contact Earthworks with questions about dropping off donations at617.442.1059.
- We will gladly accept gently-used second hand items and already-opened packages of things like crayons, cleaning supplies, and office supplies.
- Plastic Storage bins with lids (shoebox size or larger, for making worm composting bins with second graders)
- Pencils with erasers (for Outdoor Classroom program; we go through these really quickly)
- Pipe cleaners (for making insects with second graders)
- Cleaning Supplies (Sponges, Bathroom/Kitchen Surface cleaning spray, Hand soap refill)
- Miscellaneous Office Supplies (printer paper, pens, dry erase boards and markers, stamps, binders, bookends, coffee mugs, silverware)
